Group Accountant (Consolidations)

A logistics company in Richards Bay needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Richards Bay; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
• Completed articles at an audit firm
