Guest Room Attendant (Lodge)

Check-out to check-in in under an hour, room after room, at a game lodge in Fourways. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a game lodge in Fourways. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board

• Grade 10 or matric
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
