Guest Room Attendant (Lodge)

Check-out to check-in in under an hour, room after room, at a city business hotel in Roodepoort. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a city business hotel on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included

• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Well groomed
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
