You'll turn rooms around at a beachfront holiday resort in Pretoria West so every guest walks into a room that feels new. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a beachfront holiday resort in Pretoria West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights

• Well groomed
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Grade 10 or matric

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
