Home Tutor (Primary School, Afternoons)

A tutoring centre in Atlantis needs a patient tutor who can turn a failing mark into a pass. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

• Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
• Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
• Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
• Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
• Prepare learners for control tests with short timed practice drills
• Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
• Write a short progress note for parents after each session

• Police clearance for work with minors
• Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
• Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
• Own transport for home tutoring posts
• Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma

• TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
• Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu

• Work from home on online posts
• Flexible hours you choose each week
• Hourly rate that rises with your ratings and results
• Free training on the tutoring platform

• Lead with your own mark in the subject, such as "Maths 89% (NSC)"; tutoring agencies filter by marks.
• Record a two-minute video explaining one tough concept; it often gets you booked faster than a CV.
