Job Description

Pick up afternoon or evening sessions with a remedial learning centre in Boksburg and put your subject knowledge to work. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Boksburg (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
Prepare learners for control tests with short timed practice drills
Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing
Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection

You'll need

Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
Police clearance for work with minors
Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor

Helpful, not essential

Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
Remedial or learning support training
