Job Description

A matric rewrite college in Boksburg needs a patient tutor who can turn a failing mark into a pass. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a matric rewrite college on the Boksburg side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
Set practice work between sessions and check it next time
Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing

You'll need

Police clearance for work with minors
Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
Own transport for home tutoring posts
Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma

Nice if you have

TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
Remedial or learning support training
