Hospital Admissions Clerk (Night Shift)

At a specialist orthopaedic rooms in Ballito, your job is clean files, correct codes and money that comes in on time. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Ballito; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Submit claims electronically and work through the rejection report daily
• Open patient files and capture consent forms in line with POPIA
• Take payments, issue receipts and balance the cash-up at close
• Keep patient records locked and share them only with written consent
• Chase short payments with medical schemes and patients
• Check medical aid membership and benefits before each consultation
• Send monthly statements and age the debtors book

• Matric
• Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes
• Confident with Excel and email
• You keep patient information private, every time
• Experience on a practice system such as GoodX, Elixir, Medinol or Healthbridge
• Friendly on the phone and firm about outstanding accounts

• Understanding of how HPCSA practitioner and BHF practice numbers are used on claims
• Experience with hospital case management and pre-auth
• Bookkeeping basics or Pastel knowledge for practice accounts

• Normal practice hours with most weekends off
• Parking on site
• Free medical consultations for staff at some practices

• Give numbers if you can, such as your rejection rate or how much you cut the 90-day debtors.
• Name the billing software you know in your CV headline; practices want someone who needs no system training.
