Housekeeper and Cook (Family Home)

Cleaning, laundry and a hand with the kids: that is the week in a townhouse in a security complex in Brackenfell. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a townhouse in a security complex on the Brackenfell side of Western Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Water indoor plants and feed pets
• Keep a list of cleaning supplies running low for the employer
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Get children ready for school and supervise homework in the afternoon

• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Able to speak and understand basic English
• Good with children and patient
• South African ID or valid work permit

• Non-smoker
• Basic first aid or child CPR course

• Own room with bathroom for live-in posts
• Transport money for live-out staff
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires

• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
