Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

Guests at a conference hotel in Centurion will never meet you, but they will judge the stay by your work. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a conference hotel in Centurion. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries

• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Grade 10 or matric
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
