Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

Check-out to check-in in under an hour, room after room, at a conference hotel in Pretoria West. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a conference hotel in Pretoria West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers

• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
