HR Manager (Small to Medium Business)

This manufacturing plant in Roodepoort needs an HR person who knows labour law and the shop floor. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a manufacturing plant on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng.

• Compile the Employment Equity report and the Workplace Skills Plan.
• Coordinate training and submit SETA grant claims on time.
• Update HR policies when labour law changes.
• Track leave, absenteeism and sick notes and act on patterns.
• Represent the company at CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.
• Consult with shop stewards and attend union meetings.
• Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.

• A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
• Good report writing and Excel
• Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions
• At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist

• Skills development facilitator (SDF) training
• Experience on a unionised site or in a bargaining council sector

• Company car or travel allowance for site visits
