Job Description

Good with a scan tool and a torque wrench? This franchised passenger vehicle dealership in Isando needs you in a bay. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Isando (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
Road test vehicles before and after repairs

You'll need

Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
Your own basic toolbox
Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams

Helpful, not essential

High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience

On offer

Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
Tool allowance or tool insurance
Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
Staff discount on parts and services
