Hybrid and EV Technician (Light Vehicles)

This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Kuruman needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a fast-fit tyre and service centre in Kuruman. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted

• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Your own basic toolbox

• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience
• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
