Hybrid and EV Technician (Light Vehicles) – Immediate Start

This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Mamelodi needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Mamelodi, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed

• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Your own basic toolbox

• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target

• Tool allowance or tool insurance

• If you hit or beat your sold-hour target, say by how much. Workshop managers love that number.
• Attach manufacturer training certificates. They can move you up a technician grade and pay band.
