Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Commercial Trucks) – Immediate Start

Every hour a truck stands still costs money. This municipal bus depot in Fourways needs a mechanic who can fix it quickly. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a municipal bus depot on the Fourways side of Gauteng.

• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop

• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs

• Auto electrical skills
• Brand-specific heavy vehicle courses

• Overtime available most weeks
• Standby and call-out allowance
