ICU Registered Nurse (Day Shift)

Patients in this step-down and sub-acute facility in Mogwase count on your clinical judgement every single shift. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Mogwase, North West. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Report adverse events and near misses on the incident system the same day
• Do wound care, catheter care and IV line management to unit protocol
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls

• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice
• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• Clean criminal record

• Experience with electronic patient records or bedside charting systems
• Post-basic qualification in critical care, theatre or advanced midwifery

• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay
• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training
• Study support for post-basic specialities
