Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic, Retail Pharmacy)

Accuracy is everything in this primary health care clinic dispensary in Rustenburg; one checked label at a time. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a primary health care clinic dispensary on the Rustenburg side of North West. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products

• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
