Industrial Cleaner (Mining Workshop)

You'll do the heavy cleaning at a dairy processing factory in Paarl, the kind that needs machines, chemicals and training. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a dairy processing factory on the Paarl side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Run a high-pressure washer on grease, oil and slurry build-up
• Put out and check pest bait stations on the site map
• Store chemicals in the locked chemical store with safety data sheets
• Strip down and wash production equipment after the last run
• Shampoo carpets and upholstery with an extraction machine
• Foam, scrub and rinse walls, floors and conveyors with approved chemicals
• Clear builders' dust, paint and cement off floors and windows after construction

• Able to pass a medical fitness check for plant work
• Reliable, as crews are small and each person counts
• Willing to work nights and weekends when plants shut down
• Grade 10 or better; you must read chemical labels and safety data sheets

• Working-at-heights or IRATA rope access ticket
• Experience using a high-pressure washer or carpet extractor
• A Code 8 licence to drive the crew bakkie

• Night-shift and standby allowances
• Full PPE: waterproof suits, boots, goggles and respirators
• Higher hourly rate than standard cleaning
• Paid training on machines and chemicals

• Put the machines and chemicals you have used at the top of your CV. Industrial cleaning companies hire on skills, not just willingness.
• Say you are available for night and shutdown work. That is when most factory hygiene cleaning happens.
