Job Description

You'll handle the full HR cycle for a retail chain region in Bellville, from hiring to hearings. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Bellville, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

The work, day to day

  • Update HR policies when labour law changes.
  • Coordinate training and submit SETA grant claims on time.
  • Advise line managers on the Labour Relations Act and the BCEA.
  • Compile the Employment Equity report and the Workplace Skills Plan.
  • Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.

You'll need

  • Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions
  • CCMA experience, at least at conciliation
  • Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA
  • Valid driver's licence for multi-site roles
  • A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
  • Good report writing and Excel

Extra points for

  • HR system experience such as Sage 300 People or PaySpace
  • Skills development facilitator (SDF) training
  • Experience on a unionised site or in a bargaining council sector
