Job Description

People issues land on your desk first at this open-cast mine in Kimberley, and you'll sort them fairly. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The site is in Kimberley; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

The work, day to day

  • Compile the Employment Equity report and the Workplace Skills Plan.
  • Advise line managers on the Labour Relations Act and the BCEA.
  • Run exit interviews and report turnover each quarter.
  • Update HR policies when labour law changes.
  • Coordinate training and submit SETA grant claims on time.
  • Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.
  • Run onboarding, contracts and probation reviews for new staff.

What you need

  • CCMA experience, at least at conciliation
  • At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist
  • A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
  • Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA
  • Good report writing and Excel
  • Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions

Extra points for

  • Skills development facilitator (SDF) training
  • Experience on a unionised site or in a bargaining council sector
  • SABPP registration

On offer

  • Annual performance bonus
  • Medical aid and provident fund contributions
  • Company car or travel allowance for site visits

How to apply

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): certified copy of your ID, a CV listing CCMA cases and hearings you have handled plus proof of SABPP registration, if registered.
  3. Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
  4. Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 10 working days.
