Installation Electrician (Wireman's Licence)

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the facilities management company in Coega. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Coega. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations

• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test

• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
• N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year

• List two or three recent jobs with sizes, like a 60-point house rewire or a 10 kVA inverter install. It shows your level quickly.
• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
