Installation Electrician (Wireman's Licence) – Fixed-Term

This is hands-on electrical work in Komani: new installs, repairs and CoCs that pass the first time. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a facilities management company on the Komani side of Eastern Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients

• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces

• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
• Working at Heights certificate still in date
• N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation

• List two or three recent jobs with sizes, like a 60-point house rewire or a 10 kVA inverter install. It shows your level quickly.
• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
