Plumber for Geyser Installations

You'll sort out burst geysers, leaks and blockages for the insurance repair contractor in Mthatha. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is an insurance repair contractor on the Mthatha side of Eastern Cape.

• Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens
• Order fittings from the supplier and keep the van stocked
• Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
• Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
• Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P
• Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts
• Fit toilets, basins, showers and mixers to the client's chosen finishes

• Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
• Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
• Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
• Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
• At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
• PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
