Job Description

When production stops, the artisans get it going again. The iron ore mine maintenance workshop near Bellville needs you on that team. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Bellville. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Order spares and track them through the engineering store
Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles
Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines
Isolate and lock out machines under the site isolation procedure
Help with rope inspections and shaft maintenance during scheduled stoppages

What you need

Understands MHSA duties for artisans, including lockout and permits
At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine
N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science
Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster

Helpful, not essential

SAP PM module experience
Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
Government Certificate of Competency studies in progress
