Job Description

When production stops, the artisans get it going again. The diamond mine processing plant near Vanderbijlpark needs you on that team. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Vanderbijlpark (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What you'll actually do

Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines
Complete job cards and work orders in SAP after each task
Guide and teach an artisan assistant on the job
Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles
Help with rope inspections and shaft maintenance during scheduled stoppages

You'll need

Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work
At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine
Able to read schematics, hydraulic circuits or wiring diagrams
Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster
N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science

Helpful, not essential

SAP PM module experience
Flameproof equipment training for coal mines
Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
