You'll be based at a public high school in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind

• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
