Job Description

Your subject, your classroom and learners who need you to believe in them: that's this independent primary school in Kariega. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at an independent primary school in Kariega. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

  • Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
  • Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
  • Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
  • Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
  • Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams

Must-haves

  • Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
  • A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
  • You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
  • Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)

What's in it for you

  • Housing allowance for SGB and state-funded posts where it applies
  • Paid SACE CPTD workshops
  • School holidays in line with the school calendar

How to apply

  1. Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: police clearance issued in the last 6 months plus SACE registration certificate.
  3. Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 9 working days.
