Intermediate Phase Teacher (Grade 5)

A rural combined school in Sasolburg needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Sasolburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines

• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance

• Coaching experience in a major school sport
• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
