IT Helpdesk Agent (Night Shift)

A managed IT services provider in Midrand needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Midrand-based, with most of your time spent at a managed IT services provider. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems

• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
