IT Intern (Support Desk)

Get hands-on support experience at a group of private schools in Bloemfontein, from password resets to new laptop builds. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Bloemfontein, Free State. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system

• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users

• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
• ITIL Foundation
• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification

• Travel allowance for field technicians

• Clear path to second-line and systems roles
