Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for an e-commerce platform in Benoni. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at an e-commerce platform in Benoni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Pair with junior developers to unblock them

What you need

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript

Helpful, not essential

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
