Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at a fintech start-up in Khayelitsha. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Khayelitsha; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work

Must-haves

Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Experience writing automated tests
