Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a software development house in Tembisa. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Tembisa, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab

Must-haves

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Experience writing automated tests
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript

Extra points for

Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
