Job Description

A construction contractor in Somerset West needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Somerset West, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation

Must-haves

Matric with Accounting
Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work

Nice if you have

Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
