Job Description

Clients sleep better when their tax is sorted, and a small tax practice in Atlantis needs you to sort it. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a small tax practice in Atlantis. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What your day looks like

Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims

What you need

At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Clear writing for SARS letters and objections

Extra points for

Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
