Junior IT Technician (Schools)

Get hands-on support experience at a group of private schools in Mogwase, from password resets to new laptop builds. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Mogwase-based, with most of your time spent at a group of private schools. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users

• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365

• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles
• Standby pay for after-hours cover
• Paid certification exams after probation

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• List your certifications right under your name; A+ and ITIL are common keyword filters.
