Software Engineer (Insurance Core Systems)

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a bank's digital channels team in Klerksdorp. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

• Write unit and integration tests before you merge
• Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
• Pair with junior developers to unblock them
• Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
• Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
• Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
• Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind

• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
• Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
• Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
• Experience writing automated tests
