Junior Quantity Surveyor (Private Practice) – Experienced

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Alberton. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Alberton, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions

• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS

• Study support for an honours degree
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
