Junior Quantity Surveyor (Private Practice)

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the quantity surveying practice in Centurion. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a quantity surveying practice in Centurion. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings

• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Code 08 licence for site visits

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Study support for an honours degree
