Junior Safety Officer (Housing Projects) – Immediate Start

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this building contractor in East London. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is East London-based, with most of your time spent at a building contractor.

• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work

• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Travel and site allowances

• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
