Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a bank's digital channels team in Boksburg. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Boksburg-based, with most of your time spent at a bank's digital channels team. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards

You'll need

Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
