Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a bank's digital channels team in Germiston. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a bank's digital channels team in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning

Must-haves

Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages

Extra points for

Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
