Junior Software Developer (Graduate Programme)

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a fintech start-up in Polokwane. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Polokwane-based, with most of your time spent at a fintech start-up. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Write unit and integration tests before you merge
• Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
• Pair with junior developers to unblock them
• Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
• Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
• Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind

• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
• Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
• You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
• Experience writing automated tests

• Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
