Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a fintech start-up in Pretoria East. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a fintech start-up on the Pretoria East side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries

You'll need

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
