Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a software development house in Vereeniging. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Vereeniging (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What you'll actually do

Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab

Must-haves

Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Extra points for

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
