Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at a logistics software company in Worcester. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a logistics software company in Worcester. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

Must-haves

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Experience writing automated tests
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Helpful, not essential

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
