Job Description

Packing season at a table grape packhouse near Burgersfort means lots of shifts and lots of work. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Burgersfort-based, with most of your time spent at a table grape packhouse. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run

You'll need

Basic counting and reading for labels
Follows hygiene rules at all times
Able to stand at a line for long shifts
Quick and neat with your hands
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays

Nice if you have

Previous packhouse work
Forklift licence for palletising roles
Matric for QC posts
