Laundry Attendant (Hotel Linen Room)

You'll turn rooms around at a game lodge in Lephalale so every guest walks into a room that feels new. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Lephalale, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift

• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Grade 10 or matric

• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
