Laundry Attendant (Hotel Linen Room)

Housekeeping at a beachfront holiday resort in Thohoyandou is steady work with room to grow into supervising. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Thohoyandou, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included

• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Grade 10 or matric
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
